About The Chicago Gargoyle Brass

The Chicago Gargoyle Brass Ensemble began in 1992 as a chamber group of faculty and students at the University of Chicago, whose campus architecture boasts a charming variety of the ensemble’s namesake. Today’s members of the ensemble are classically trained adult professionals, playing in orchestras, jazz bands, and musical theaters around Chicago. The group has performed recitals and major liturgical works in major churches of Chicagoland, organ and brass concerts for chapters of the American Guild of Organists, toured Minnesota, and recorded a CD of concert pieces.
