Ian Fitzwater holds positions with the Fox Valley Orchestra, Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra, and Chicago Metropolitan Brass Ensemble. He is also a regular substitute player with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. He maintains an active private teaching studio and coaches low-brass sections at West Aurora Middle Schools. His teachers include Jeremy Moeller, Joseph Rodriguez, Reed Capshaw, Michael Powell, and Russell Widener. Ian holds a Master of Music degree in trombone performance from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Music degree in trombone and euphonium performance from Wichita State University.
