Lev Garbar, Trumpet

Lev Garbar is an accomplished performer as well as an outstanding teacher. He holds a Master of Music degree and Professional Studies Diploma degree in Trumpet Performance that he earned while studying at the Mannes College of Music in New York City. While in New York, Lev studied with Robert Sullivan and Vincent Penzarella of the New York Philharmonic, and Melvin Broiles of the Metropolitan Opera. He also had many freelancing opportunities in the New York metropolitan area.

In 2004 Lev completed the Teacher Certification program at Northern Illinois University while serving as a graduate assistant to the Professor of Trumpet, Dr. Mark Ponzo. Currently, Lev is a band director in Glen Ellyn, and continues to teach privately and perform with numerous groups in the Chicagoland area.
